Lung cancer screening? It's good to know.

The Australian Government has launched a new national campaign to promote the National Lung Cancer Screening Program, and we need your help to spread the word.

Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related death in Australia, but with the National Lung Cancer Screening Program, we have the opportunity to change that.

If detected early, more than 65% of lung cancers can be successfully treated.

With your support, we can further increase awareness of this program and support multicultural communities to participate.

About the campaign

The It’s Good to Know campaign is an equity-first campaign that is supported by the Australian Government and has been developed in partnership with a consortium of organisations, including Cancer Council Victoria, the Daffodil Centre, the National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (NACCHO), ACON, the Australian Multicultural Health Collaborative and the Royal Flying Doctor Service South Eastern Section.

The campaign aims to raise awareness of the National Lung Cancer Screening Program and increase participation among eligible Australians aged 50 to 70.

With some multicultural communities at higher risk of lung cancer because of higher smoking rates, the It’s Good to Know campaign reflects Australia’s cultural diversity and aims to reduce inequities in accessing screening information.

Translated content and website pages are available in Arabic, Cantonese, Hindi, Mandarin and Vietnamese to ensure they have the information and support they need to participate in this life-saving program.
